Sneak Peek Saturday-The Lord will Complete It…

As the release date for my novel draws near (next Friday, to be exact!), I was reflecting on how good the Lord is, how he’s worked in my life. I had one of those moments tonight when you kind of stop and think, “What in the world am I doing in this town, in this state, with these people?” I don’t mean that in a negative way. For anyone who has relocated, you understand what I’m saying. It’s just amazing where the Lord puts you and how He works!

We went to Cornerstone Academy’s County Fair tonight (a yearly fair the third grade hosts in celebration of finishing their novel, Charlotte’s Web.), and I was thinking how blessed I was to be there when the school started. I taught first grade that first year. There were only a handful of students then, but tonight, looking around at the 100s of people at the fair, seeing the completed building across the soccer field and the cranes and construction equipment poised to begin working on the next phase of the building, it’s clear to see how the Lord is working!

What the new phase will look like!

What the new phase will look like!

My new pastor and his family were at the fair tonight, which was another reminder of how good the Lord is. There’s not many things that are scarier than a church seeking a new pastor, but once again, the Lord knew exactly what our church (and our family) needed.

And then I think about my own family. My husband, whom the Lord knew I needed to be the voice of reason in my life as well as to be a caring and supportive daddy and husband. My seven year old, Carson, though he gave us much to be concerned about when he was born, he now brings us such sweetness and such humor! And Cole, our firecracker, the blur, the “nuts-o kid,” as Carson calls him. We weren’t sure we’d be able to have another child. It had been six years. But the Lord had a plan, and despite the (STILL) sleepless nights, just one look at his “cheesy grin” reminds me how good the Lord is.

And then I think how the Lord has worked and is continuing to work in the writing of my novel. It amazes me. There’s a scripture that one of the characters use in my novel, one that has really been special to me over the past few years. It’s Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.

I love this verse. It’s a promise. Don’t give up on what you know the Lord has called you to do or where He’s called you to go. If he started it, He will perform or complete it. Thank you, Lord.
